  • Designed to perform well under stage lighting
  • Lightweight structure for efficient installation

The Brief

We were commissioned to create a scenic installation for a live show featuring comedian Sindhu Vee, produced by 800 Pound Gorilla Media. The build needed to support the visual identity of the production while fitting within the practical constraints of a live performance environment.

Because the installation was designed for a specific event setting, the work had to be efficient to install and remove, while still presenting well on stage and on camera. It needed to complement the performer and production rather than dominate the space, providing a clear visual backdrop that worked under stage lighting and filming conditions.

The brief therefore focused on creating a clean, reliable scenic solution that could be delivered within tight timelines and perform consistently throughout the show.

Our Solution

We fabricated a scenic installation designed specifically for the stage environment of the show. The design approach prioritised clarity and practicality, ensuring the piece would read well visually both for the live audience and for filmed content.

Construction focused on creating a lightweight but stable structure that could be transported, installed and removed efficiently. Materials and finishes were selected to respond well under stage lighting while maintaining a professional, unobtrusive appearance during the performance.

Careful consideration was given to proportions, positioning and sightlines so the installation framed the performance without interfering with movement on stage. All components were built for reliable setup and breakdown, allowing the production team to manage the installation smoothly within the event schedule.

The final piece functioned as a subtle but effective scenic element within the overall show environment.

The installation provided the production with a reliable scenic backdrop that supported the visual presentation of the show without complicating the live setup. Its construction allowed the production team to install and remove the piece quickly, fitting easily within the technical schedule of the venue.

Because the design worked well under stage lighting and camera conditions, it contributed to a clean visual environment for both the live audience and recorded material. The result was a straightforward but effective scenic solution tailored to the needs of a live performance production.
